Ganja allegedly found in luggage at airport, Canadian man charged

At Kingston's Norman Manley International Airport, a Canadian man was detained and prosecuted on Sunday after it was allegedly discovered that he had ganja in his suitcase.

Charged with possession of ganja, dealing in ganja, and taking steps preparatory to exporting ganja is 20-year-old Rhavjit Singh of an Ontario address.

Police report that about 9:20 a.m. on October 5, airport personnel conducted a search of his suitcase and allegedly found ganja weighing two pounds.

He was subsequently arrested and later charged.

A court date is being finalised.
