The Manchester police are probing a deadly chain of events that began with a dispute over the cost of an item and ended with the fatal shooting of 54-year-old deportee Dave Alfrancis Wilson, otherwise called "Brownman."

Wilson, of Caledonia Road in Manchester, allegedly gunned down 31-year-old accountant Adrian Bernard of Bueno Vista Circle on Tuesday, September 9, before being killed in a confrontation with the police.

Reports are that the two men argued over the price of an item, during which Wilson left and later returned armed with a rifle. He allegedly opened fire on Bernard, who was seated in his motorcar. Bernard sustained gunshot wounds to his chest and leg and was rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Wilson fled the scene in a blue Honda Accord, sparking a police investigation that led officers to his Caledonia Road premises. There, a shootout ensued, and Wilson was later found suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to hospital but was pronounced dead.

Police say they recovered an Omni Hybrid multi-calibre rifle with 28 rounds of 5.56 ammunition, a Petro Beretta 9mm pistol with 17 rounds, and an additional 745 assorted rounds at the location.

The matter has been reported to the Inspectorate and Professional Standards Oversight Bureau (IPROB) as well as the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM).
