Honey Jerk Glazed Ham
Check out this mouthwatering ham recipe for your Christmas dinner.
Ingredients
* 8-10lb fully cooked
and spiralled ham
* 1/3 cup honey
* 1/2 cup canned
pineapple juice
(divided)
* 1/2 cup brown sugar
* 1/2 cup sugar
* 2 tbsp dry jerk
seasoning
* 1/2 tsp cinnamon
* 1/4 tsp seasoned salt
* 1/2 tsp garlic
powder
* 1/2 tsp onion
powder
* 1/2 tsp smoked
paprika
* 4 sliced Scotch
bonnet pepper
* 1/2 tsp ground clove
* 1/2 tsp all spice
* 1/4 cup sliced cherry
Directions
Let's put it together.
1. Preheat based on reheating instructions on package.
2. Mix honey and 2 tbsp of pineapple juice .
3. Pour honey mixture over ham and into slices. Cover thoroughly.
4. Reheat ham 15 minutes per pound.
5. While ham is in the oven, mix together sugars and spices.
6. Once ham is done, pour out cooked juices from ham into a pot with remaining 1/2 sugar-spice mixture to make glaze sauce.
7. Bring glaze to a boil and simmer for 15-20 minutes on low.
8. Coat warm ham in sugar mixture and add sliced Scotch bonnet pepper.
9. Broil in the oven until sugars have caramelised, and take out.
10. Allow glaze to cool for 15 minutes.
11. Pour over ham.
12. Add sliced Scotch bonnet and cherry for garnish.
