Coley: James was a complete footballer

Jamaica College's coach, Miguel Coley, yesterday described former JC Manning Cupper  Dominic James as a 'complete footballer'  shortly after news broke that the player had died following his collapse at the Stadium East field.
       A minute's silence was observed at half-time during the JC versus Vauxhall High match at Old Hope Road for the St George's College captain. James spent three years at JC  where he started playing at age 15 in the 2012-13 season and was a member of the squad which won the Manning Cup in 2014. 
    He left for  St George’s College last year and won the FLOW Super Cup. He was among the scorers as St George's whipped JC 4-0.
  
   “It is tough to hear the news of his passing. He was one of the players we did not want to leave,” said Coley who added that his team’s win was overshadowed by the player’s death.
“It is tough to hear the news of his passing. He was one the players even when he left, we didn’t want him to leave,” said Coley.
The coach revealed that James was asthmatic while at JC.
   “We knew of his asthma and that it would normally affect him when the time was hot,” Coley said.
   In yesterday's game Orlando Brown scored a fine first-half brace as JC  slammed in six goals without reply against Vauxhall.
   The former Denham Town High player scored in the 19th and 30th minutes.
    In a one-sided contest JC were in total control throughout. They went ahead in the 11th minute when captain Oquin Robinson dispatched a penalty after defender Javaughn  Williams handled inside the box.

The other scorers for JC were Donovan Dawkins who netted in the 34th,  Duhaney Williams (52nd)  and Okeefe Cunningham, 89th.
 At the Stadium East Excelsior High were leading St George's College 2-1 in their game when the match was called off close to half-time.
