Kingston man arrested for illegal possession of firearm and ammunition

A 21-year-old-man of a Kingston 12 address is now in police custody following the seizure of a smith and wesson 9mm pistol, with a magazine containing three 9mm cartridges on Half Way Tree Road, Kingston 10 on Friday, August 28.

Reports from the Half Way Tree police are that about 6:45 a.m., a team was on patrol in the area when they saw the man walking along the roadway and acting in a manner that aroused their suspicion.

He was stopped and searched; the firearm and ammunition were found inside a knapsack he was carrying.

He was subsequently arrested.

The man’s identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
