Short shorts, breathe-friendly apparel and sneakers or boots were the order of the night at last Friday's high-energy session dubbed Bacchanal and Dancehall.

The outfits went perfectly with the transformed Mas Camp, St Andrew, venue that was decorated with poster-covered zinc-fencing in light of the theme, and boasted easily-accessible bars, left, right, and centre. For the guest in VIP, GCG Events catered delectable Jamaica culinary delights from jerked pork and chicken with festival and a scrumptious serving of sweet bread pudding for dessert.

The concept of merging bacchanal with dancehall street bashment invited the sounds of vibrant musical selections from DJ Tyler and Bishop Escobar but also welcomed Trinidad's Lord Hype, who decided to start the party early by spinning the hits from mas' season back home.

Hardcore dancehall

However, Bishop Escobar took on a different method of playing 10-minute internals of soca then dancehall, which he believed still showed the latter genre in the lead.

"At this point it just about the energy not the genres. From my view, everyone, true feterans, hardcore dancehall fans and newcomers are all moving and having a good time with one another," one patron said.

While the raving sounds of Ding Dong's Cha Cha Boy encouraged persons to do brisk arm and leg moves, Machel Montano's Famalay and Dr Mashup singles inspired persons to jump and fly their rags in the air.

It could easily be said that over 500 party-seekers came out to the home of Bacchanal Jamaica in search for a good time...and left feeling that their musical taste buds were satisfied.
